Jacob Bernsen

As a hybrid firm, not only do we serve our clients remotely, but our team members are often distributed as well. We understand the accounting, bookkeeping, cash flow management, and tax nuances of running a distributed company. We pride ourselves on our ability to provide the highest quality Virtual CFO services while being hybrid, and we couldn't do any of it without our amazing team.

Every month we spotlight one of our employees so you can get to know us better. This month we bring you Jacob Bernsen. Jacob has been with Summit for 2 years. He is a Virtual CFO Senior Accountant here at Summit.

Here are 10 things about our June Employee Spotlight, Jacob Bernsen!

      1. Do you love working from home or would you rather be in the office?

I personally like a combination of both. There are some days where I enjoy working from home and others where I have a lot of calls/meetings and prefer being in the office.

      2. What’s your number one tip for combating distractions when working from home?

My number one tip would be treating it no different than if you were in an office, with the exception of playing music out loud instead of through headphones. But really just focusing on your work and not doing other things in the middle of the day.

      3. Are you an early bird or night owl?

        Early bird.

      4. Do you play any sports?

I played soccer growing up and now just golf.

      5. What’s your caffeinated beverage of choice? Coffee? Cola? Tea?

        Coffee.

      6. Best book you’ve ever read?

I'm not a huge book guy but The Goal: A Process of Ongoing Improvement.

      7. What would your superpower be and why?

Being able to fly because you could go anywhere you want whenever you want.

      8. Do you think you could live without your smartphone (or other technology item) for 24 hours?

I want to say yes but probably not.

      9. If you could do anything in the world as your career, what would you do?

        Professional golf.

      10. What’s the best piece of advice you’ve ever been given?

No matter what you're doing, give it your best effort.
